AKM73 Motor bearing Problem

We are users of AKM73 seriese motors. They have been in use over more than 2 years of continuous operation. we are using servostar S712 drives. System was working properly for 2 years but recently we are facing problems such F08 (Overspeed), F25 (Commutation Errors) , Noise from motor etc etc. We read in the motor manual that bearing needs to be replace after 20000 hours of operation. are these problems related to the bearing of motor? Can we relate increase in problems to the motor bearing? How we can check the healthiness of motor bearing?

Hello Sameer,

due to F08 and F25 drive faults, it can also be a problem with the motor feedback or with the cables.
Can you replace the cables and/or the motor, in order to test whether either the cables or the motor causes the problem.
I would recommend to get in contact with your local Kollmorgen representatives for further technical support.

Regards,
Joerg

Hello joerg
Thanks for your quick response.
As mentioned by you we have replaced the motors in system and not observed any problem afterwards and system is under observation. if we consider there is problem in the cables then problem should repeat and should not be intermittent.

The taken out motor how can we check for motor feedback problem??

You can measure the output signals of the feedback with a oscilloscope.
