This application note is an overview, a little simplistic to be sure, of what CE testing is really all about. It is based on our company’s recent successful CE EMC tests at an outside test house of drives and motors tested to the generic, heavy industrial immunity and emission standards.
This Application Note provides basic information regarding brushless servomotor sizing. Its purpose is to introduce you to the various aspects involved in motor, amplifier, power supply, and transformer selection.
If a motor operates intermittently, it is not necessary that the peak load torque fall within the motor’s continuous torque capabilities. However, it is important that the RMS (root mean square) load torque be inside the continuous duty zone.
Servo System Speed Regulation. Servo systems, by definition, include the use of a feedback device to control or regulate the required function. For servomotors and amplifiers, feedback is accommodated by a motor connected tachometer (or other device) that provides an indication of motor speed.
